Sand Bath
The sand bath involves burying the body in warm sand, which retains heat and provides deep relaxation through far-infrared effects.
The sand bath is only available in some areas of Japan, and now you can experience it with us in Chiang Mai. Our spa uses a tub that is built for indoor use and can withstand high heat. The mechanism for heating the sand is to produce hot water from a hot water boiler outside the spa room and send it to the spa pool.
What is this sand?
Real volcanic rock pressed into small round balls 3-4 mm. Reddish brown pellets from a factory in Japan
which contains more than 50 types of minerals. Important minerals include magnesium, zinc, selenium, iodine, calcium, phosphorus. When pressed volcanic rock encounters heat, it produces far-infrared (FIR) waves and negative charges, which are released from the volcanic rock mineral pellets.
It is a natural relaxation therapy from Japan.
While you are soaking in the sand bath, you can feel your heart beating and blood flowing throughout your body. You sweat a lot. Even after soaking, you can still feel your body warm for a long time. Soaking in the volcanic stone spa also helps relieve fatigue and makes your skin smooth.
